Bourbon-Maple Brisket Grilled Cheese Wafflewich

A decadent twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring tender bourbon-maple brisket sandwiched between crispy waffles and melted cheese.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups cooked brisket, shredded
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 frozen waffles, toasted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine shredded brisket, bourbon, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  3. Butter one side of each waffle. Place two waffles butter-side down on the skillet.
  4. Divide the cheese between the two waffles, then top with the bourbon-maple brisket mixture.
  5. Place the remaining waffles on top, butter-side up. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
