Voodoo Egg Rolls

Spicy and flavorful egg rolls with a Cajun-inspired kick, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a skillet, cook ground chicken over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add cabbage, bell peppers, onions, garlic, Cajun seasoning, hot sauce, and paprika. Cook for 5 minutes until vegetables soften.
  3. Lay an egg roll wrapper flat. Spoon 2 tbsp of filling onto the center. Fold sides inward, then roll tightly, sealing the edge with beaten egg.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
