For the Crust:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 cups cooked rice
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, bourbon, ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
Toss the baked meatballs in the sauce until fully coated. Serve over cooked rice.
