For the Crust:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup milk
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup sour cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
Gradually pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly. Add thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until gravy thickens.
Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain.
Mash potatoes with milk, butter, and sour cream until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the ground beef and gravy over mashed potatoes.
