For the Crust:

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to form a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps remain. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the sauce, stirring to combine.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked potatoes and frozen peas. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the peas are heated through.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish.
