Cinnamon, Cream, and Chocolate Cake

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, then mix in heavy cream, oil, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. For frosting, beat cream cheese until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, then fold in 1/2 cup whipped cream. Frost cooled cake and serve.
