Cheese Sauce for Fries

A creamy, rich cheese sauce perfect for drizzling over fries or other snacks.

For the Crust:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  3. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened to desired consistency.
