Baked Italian Sub Sandwiches

A delicious and hearty baked sandwich filled with Italian meats, cheese, and veggies, perfect for a crowd.

For the Crust:

  • 1 large loaf Italian bread
  • 1/2 lb sliced salami
  • 1/2 lb sliced ham
  • 1/2 lb sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 lb sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/2 lb sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup banana peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the Italian bread loaf horizontally, leaving one side attached to create a hinge.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bread and Italian dressing on the top half. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.
  3. Layer the salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, mozzarella, banana peppers, and black olives on the bottom half of the bread.
  4. Close the sandwich and wrap tightly in aluminum foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from oven, unwrap, slice into portions, and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
