Bacon Cheddar Onion Bombs

Savory bacon-wrapped onion bombs stuffed with melted cheddar cheese, perfect for appetizers or game day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 4 large sweet onions
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel onions and cut off tops and bottoms to create flat surfaces.
  2. Carefully hollow out each onion, leaving about 1/2-inch thick outer layers. Reserve removed onion for other use.
  3. Stuff each hollowed onion with cheddar cheese cubes, packing tightly.
  4. Wrap each stuffed onion with 3 slices of bacon, securing with toothpicks if needed.
  5. Mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Rub olive oil over bacon-wrapped onions, then sprinkle with seasoning mix.
  6. Place onions on baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until bacon is crispy and cheese is melted.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
