  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle lemon zest evenly over the batter.
  4. In a saucepan, combine lemon juice, water, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then pour over the batter.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
