Sticky Bourbon Brown Sugar Glazed Chicken Bites

Juicy chicken bites coated in a sweet and smoky bourbon brown sugar glaze, perfect for appetizers or a main dish.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp water (optional, for slurry)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper to make the glaze.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Pour the glaze over the chicken, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and glaze thickens.
  4. If a thicker glaze is desired, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry, then stir into the skillet and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
