One-Pot Smoked Sausage Pasta

A quick and flavorful one-pot meal featuring smoked sausage, pasta, and garlic in a creamy tomato sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, chicken broth, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add penne pasta to the pot, stirring to combine. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
