Mississippi Mud Pie

A rich and decadent chocolate dessert with a cookie crust, fudgy filling, and whipped cream topping.

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine cookie crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press into a 9-inch pie plate and bake for 8 minutes.
  2. Melt chocolate chips and 1/2 cup butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Beat 1 cup sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, then gradually mix in melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Fold in flour, salt, and chopped pecans until just combined. Pour into prepared crust.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set around edges but still slightly soft in center. Cool completely before serving with whipped cream.
