For the Crust:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
9 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, tomato sauce, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
