For the Crust:
- 1 lb hot Italian sausage, casings removed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup beer (lager or ale)
- 1/2 cup diced green onions
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Tortilla chips or pretzels for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
- Reduce heat to low and add cream cheese, stirring until melted and combined with the sausage.
- Gradually stir in cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses until fully melted.
- Pour in the beer and mix well. Add garlic powder and smoked paprika, stirring to combine.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the dip is smooth and heated through. Stir in green onions.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips or pretzels.
