For the Crust:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
For the ganache, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering. Pour over chocolate chips in a bowl and let sit for 2 minutes. Add butter and stir until smooth.
Spread ganache evenly over the cooled cake. Let set before slicing into squares.
