Honey Almond Baklava Triangles

A sweet and nutty dessert with layers of crispy phyllo pastry, honey, and almonds.

For the Crust:

  • 1 package phyllo dough (16 oz), thawed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups almonds, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
  3. Layer 8 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle half the almond mixture over the phyllo layers.
  5. Add 6 more phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter, then top with remaining almond mixture.
  6. Finish with 8 more phyllo sheets, buttering each layer.
  7. Cut into triangles before baking. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.
  8. Meanwhile, simmer honey, vanilla, and water for 10 minutes. Pour over hot baklava and let cool.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
