Holiday Meatballs with Cranberry Orange Sauce

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp orange zest

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and orange zest. Stir until the sauce is smooth and heated through.
  6. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir gently to coat. Simmer for 5 minutes before serving.
