Easy Lemon Glazed Loaf

A moist and tangy lemon loaf topped with a sweet lemon glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled loaf.
