Donut Grilled Cheese with Bacon & Maple Glaze

A sweet and savory twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring donuts, melted cheese, crispy bacon, and a drizzle of maple glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 4 glazed donuts (split in half horizontally)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 strips cooked bacon
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt to make the glaze. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  3. Spread butter on the cut sides of each donut half.
  4. Place one half of each donut butter-side down on the skillet.
  5. Layer cheddar cheese, bacon, and mozzarella cheese on each donut half in the skillet.
  6. Top with the remaining donut halves, butter-side up.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from heat and drizzle with maple glaze before serving.
