Creamy Pepper Jack Chicken & Sausage Pasta

A rich and spicy pasta dish featuring tender chicken, smoky sausage, and creamy pepper jack cheese sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sausage, cooking until browned (5-6 minutes). Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until softened (3-4 minutes).
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, pepper jack cheese, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens (4-5 minutes).
  5. Return chicken and sausage to skillet. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat in sauce. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
