Creamy Cajun Shrimp & Sausage Pasta Skillet

A spicy and creamy one-pan pasta dish featuring Cajun-seasoned shrimp and sausage.

For the Crust:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in cooked pasta, shrimp, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss until well coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
