Chocolate Ooey Gooey Cake – a chocolate lover’s dream!

For the Crust:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer in the baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly gooey.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
