For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and sour cream to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
