For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake.
