For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the condensed soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the ground beef mixture and half of the soup mixture. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for another 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
