Caramel Apple Spice Cake

A moist and tender spice cake loaded with fresh apples and drizzled with warm caramel sauce—cozy fall flavors in every bite!

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups finely chopped apples (such as Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Fold in chopped apples.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly before drizzling with caramel sauce.
