Author:Claire Monroe
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
8 oz orzo pasta
4 slices bacon, chopped
4 tbsp unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside on paper towels.
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook until butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add orzo to the skillet and stir to coat in the brown butter. Toast for 1-2 minutes.
Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese, crispy bacon, and parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
