BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks

Crispy bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks with a smoky BBQ twist, perfect for game day or appetizers.

For the Crust:

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Cut each mozzarella stick in half crosswise to make 24 pieces. Wrap each piece tightly with a bacon slice, securing with a toothpick if needed.
  3. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  4. Brush each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick with BBQ sauce, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until bacon is crispy and cheese is melted but not leaking.
  6. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving with extra BBQ sauce for dipping.
