A hearty and indulgent casserole combining the flavors of a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with creamy mac ‘n’ cheese.

For the Crust:
1 lb ground beef
8 oz bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and stir in BBQ sauce.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
Remove saucepan from heat and stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted. Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni.
Layer half the mac ‘n’ cheese in a greased casserole dish. Top with the BBQ beef mixture, then the remaining mac ‘n’ cheese. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
